Singapore Demo Day

Innovating for a Balanced Energy Transition

Friday March 8, 2024, 3:00 PM (SGT)

As the world redefines the energy landscape, recent times have been a stark reminder that energy matters, and that energy security cannot be taken for granted. It is an energy reality that highlights the need for a balanced energy transition: one in which the world achieves net-zero emissions, while still providing a secure and affordable supply of energy. We explore this topic more in our latest Energy Security Scenarios.

Join us this Demo Day as we discuss the implications of this urgent yet massive challenge, examine the role innovation plays in it and present eight game-changing local start-ups seeking to push the boundaries of what is possible.

Welcome to the Singapore Demo Day 2024

Now in its fourth run, Shell StartUp Engine's latest edition is centred around decarbonisation.

Through this programme, Shell actively supports Singapore’s energy start-up ecosystem and low-carbon economy growth, by enabling these emerging enterprises and cultivating the entrepreneurial community.

As a pioneer in Singapore’s refining and petrochemical sector, Shell has a strong heritage and continues to be an integral part of the energy system here. This includes our role as a major importer of liquefied natural gas for power generation since 2013, as well as through the trading and marketing of our products. Where it plays to our strengths, Shell will contribute to meet the challenges posed by energy transition in Singapore. We are leveraging on our competitive advantage to provide innovative and cleaner solutions in transport and industry sectors ranging from electric vehicle charging to sustainable aviation fuel. We are also actively exploring and offering new solutions to reduce emissions, such as electrification of harbour craft and introducing immersion cooling fluids to help decarbonise the data centre sector.

Shell StartUp Engine

Shell StartUp Engine is Shell’s global innovation programme that helps energy related start-ups validate and test business models and technologies which address challenges emerging from the energy transition.

The Singapore Chapter is a local track of the global programme focused on decarbonisation and works with Singapore-based start-ups. This track is delivered in partnership with the Energy Market Authority.
