Violet Chen

Violet Chen is currently Deputy Director with the Industry Development department at the Energy Market Authority. Leading the Research Innovation, Enterprise and Deployment Branch, she is responsible for catalysing the development and demonstration of innovative research activities. Violet first joined EMA as an analyst with the External Relations department, responsible for advancing Singapore’s energy interests and establishing the country as an energy thought leader and responsible global citizen. She was on secondment to the International Energy Agency in 2012 and contributed to that year’s World Energy Outlook. Upon her return, she joined the Policy and Planning department that developed energy policies and plans to meet the overarching objective of ensuring a cost-competitive, environmentally sustainable, and secure energy supply.
